If you have skylight shades in Reno, you are one step ahead of the game. When I took the temperature while installing the shade for this video, my thermometer read 145.2 degrees. If you want to lower your cooling bills in the summer and manage your heating bills in the winter, you should consider insulated shades. These honeycomb, or cellular, shades dramatically lower energy costs and make the space more comfortable and glare-free.

If you’ve been put off by the price in the past, you should re-consider. Some of the skylight systems are very reasonable now.
