Discount Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shades

Can you get the Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shade at a deep discount? Probably not, because it is one of the premium products that Hunter Douglas makes. As a result, they hold their price pretty well. But what options do you have when you want to get a similar product at a lower price? Please watch the video below to see one choice.

Sheer Shadings vs. Silhouette Shades

As you saw in the video, you have options to the Hunter Douglas Silhouette or the Hunter Douglas Nantucket Shades. In this case, the product I’m showing you is from Century Shade and Blinds. They call it “Sheer Shadings”.

Silhouette Shades or Sheer Shadings?

What are the differences? In a nutshell, the biggest difference is that you get older versions of the Hunter Douglas product. So, if you need the newest, latest and greatest, stick with the actual Hunter Douglas products. But if you want the overall look and performance of the product category, then the Sheer Shadings might be perfect for you.

Hunter Douglas is the parent company for Century Shade and Blind, Inc. So, when the new things come out in the premium lines, like Hunter Douglas Silhouette, these secondary companies get the “hand-me-downs”. This allows us to get an almost identical product to “last years” products for a lower price.

You will be sacrificing in these areas though.

  • Fabric Choices
  • Lift Mechanisms
  • Motorization Quality
  • Design Options

A good designer will give you information that will help you make the right decision. But clearly, there are options if you are trying to get something similar to the Hunter Douglas Silhouette. Here is something you may find surprising. Even though these lower cost options are available, the majority of Kempler Design’s clients choose the Hunter Douglas Silhouette as their window treatments. The only reason that they would pick the Sheer Shadings version is price. And that is only one of the considerations for most of our clients.
