One of the reasons that we went with the Hunter Douglas Vignette shades had to do with function. The client wanted top down bottom up operation, but most products and companies did not allow for it. Typically, top down bottom up roman shade operation requires a wider window. This is because of the mechanisms inside of the headrail. Because Hunter Douglas uses a proprietary system that has been scaled down over the years, it offered the best solution.

If we had tried a different system or company, we would have had to use an outside mount, which would have raised the price, due to the larger size needed. Keep in mind that every job will have different needs which makes the solution unique to your home.
