If you are thinking about replacement windows, you had better think about your window coverings too! In the attached video, you are going to see a very common problem that results from putting in new windows. Most of the people here in Reno that are doing replacement windows are switching from the old aluminum framed windows which are about 1″ deep to new vinyl or wood windows, which are often over 2″ deep. So, you can see what problems can develop from this. If you want to see it in action, watch the video.

The information taken from the YouTube video states the following:

If you are changing your windows, you may run into an issue with your window coverings. Many new windows are much deeper than the windows they are replacing. This depth can make your existing window treatments non-functional. In this video, we show some Vertical Blinds, which were installed around the year 2000. When the client replaced their windows, they ran into the issue we are speaking of. Notice how the vanes no longer tilt properly.
What is the solution? Either move the blinds toward the room or replace the window coverings with something that will work properly.
