Norman Synchrony Vertical Blinds Are New

Vertical blinds are not new, in fact, they are very dated in my opinion. Because of this, manufacturers are trying to come up with new versions of this product. This leads us to this blog and video today because we have one such option to look at. This is the Norman Synchrony Vertical Blind. Please watch the video where I give far more information.

I’d like to be completely clear about something here. I rarely do vertical blinds. Until the industry finds a new way to do them, they will be a very minor part of the product lines of most manufacturers. But when that time hits, they will explode in a big way.

The Pros and Cons of this Product

New Vertical Blinds

We did this video of the Norman Synchrony blind so you can see how it works. The good factors are plainly obvious, but there are some concerns that you should be aware of. If you are trying to install these yourself, versus having them done by a window fashions installer, you will find them to be a challenge. The moving valance piece is not easy to install, but I have a feeling the the manufacturer will be adjusting that.

Also, the engineering of this vertical blind is very cool, but the parts that lift the valance portion of the blind requires a pretty strong twisting motion to move the wand. So, I think these are great for most people, but elderly people or others with strength issues might want to consider a different option from the Norman Synchrony Vertical Blind. I made this statement based on this product and to be honest, the manufacturer is sending me a replacement headrail to make it easier to rotate the vanes on the verticals. I will be replacing it today, so hopefully it was just a minor issue that will be resolved easily.
