Shutters for Sliders or Doors

If you need shutters for sliders, then this blog and video are for you. Most homes have a door to the back yard built into them. Sometimes it is a french door, swinging door style. But typically, builders put in patio doors, which slide open. We will address this situation by discussing shutters for sliders.

Please watch the video above and see how one Reno customer decided to treat their patio door. Let me give you a little technical information as to shutters for sliders or patio doors.

  • This requires a track system. Two panels can bl-fold to the side without a track, but three or more panels require support from the top track.
  • The stack of 3 panels or more will project into the room when they are stacked on the side. The projection of the stack will be whatever the width of your panels are.
  • The frame of a bi-fold track shutter has much less projection than other types of track systems, like a bi-pass track.
  • There are some accessories or features that make the use of a bi-fold track system more usable. One is a recessed handle (see below) and the other is the auto-tilt louver feature. (The customer declined either on this job.)
