Remote and Scene Controller

Remote and Scene Controller

The latest trend in window coverings is clearly motorized shades. If you want your Reno or Lake Tahoe home to have motorized window treatments, you should be aware of some of the options. In the video embedded in this post, we show you the PowerView motorized option. PowerView is Hunter Douglas’ latest option in the motorized segment of the industry. PowerView is a radio frequency controller. The previous generation was called PowerRise. It had the option of using point and click technology, or infrared, or the radio option. They have boosted the efficiency of the RF signal especially with the use of repeaters, that amplify the signal to multiple rooms or locations. One of the huge benefits of the new system has to do with shadings like the Silhouette or Pirouette lines. Both of these products have a roller component, which lowers a solid sheet of fabric, but then they have a tilt feature which will allow for “view-through”. The video shows how the button for tilt on the remote allows you to micro adjust the vanes for tilt, or allow you to completely bypass the traditional “stop” at the bottom of the window and go straight to the full open or view position. For a complete tutorial on how to use the remote control, please view the Hunter Douglas video on their YouTube channel. Why would you choose motorized window coverings? Maybe you have a window over a tub or hard to reach kitchen window. Maybe you just like the ease of use. Maybe your home is automated. There are a lot of reasons why, and the window covering industry is ready to help you take that step. Here at Kempler Design, we are ready to explain the hows and whys of motorization for your Reno or Lake Tahoe home.
