This blog is going to show you the new Alpha Tubular Motor in action for a retrofit roman shade job we did in Reno NV. The motor is strong, quiet and effective. I can spend a lot of time on the specifics, but just know that this product worked out very nicely for this client.

The Alpha motor that I show in this video is a Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery, but know that they offer hard-wire and low voltage motors as well. Here is a photo of the various types of motors.

Motor Options for the Alpha Tubular Motors

What is the Kempler Design takeaway of Alpha Motors? The entire window coverings industry is moving toward Motorization as a standard way of controlling your shades. So, the more options there are, the better.

We do a lot of motorized window treatments and the majority of the jobs we are currently doing as of May 2021 are not wired. They are done with battery systems. I personally like these rechargeable options like the DC motor shown in the photo to the left. We don’t have to hide a battery pack, because the motor is inside the shades’ tube.

This is not unique. There are other companies like Alpha Motors that are making similar technology, like Somfy or Rollease. Which one is better for your needs? Good question. Your specific circumstances will dictate which is best for you. That is why we offer consultations so you can make the best choice for your project.
