Voice Controlled Window Coverings are a new exciting way to operate your shades, blinds, shutters or curtains. This post and attached video will give you a nice demonstration of how it works.

Most of the jobs that Kempler Design has done with our clientele has been done with the Amazon product, “Alexa”, but this client has the Apple HomeKit so I wanted to show it off. Keep in mind that all of the voice controlled window coverings are dependent on what system you want to use.

The manufacturers of high end window coverings are making sure that their proprietary products are able to collaborate with the smart home products out there. Currently, the 3 main controllers are Amazon, Google and Apple. All of them are very compatible, but you need to follow the instructions for a seamless experience

Our product in the video is the Hunter Douglas Applause Shade with PowerView. With this system it is required to establish a Hunter Douglas account on your app. After doing this, you are able to go into your Apple, Amazon or Google smart home app and configure your shades to correspond to whatever “scenes” you created in your PowerView app.

I realize that this information is extremely basic, but when we work with our clients, we help them through the voice controlled window coverings process.
