I am writing this blog about custom draperies because when people in the Reno, Sparks and Tahoe areas call us, one of the questions we get regularly is: Does Kempler Design do drapes and curtains? The answer is a solid YES. There aren’t that many window fashions experts in our area that do draperies, so it is privilege to be able to offer this service to our neighbors here in Reno. Here is one example of a very nice layered window treatment.
As you can see from this video, drapes or curtains give you the ability to get the exact feeling you desire. They wanted a relaxed color and style for their draperies in this room. The thing that makes the biggest difference is choosing the right materials and rods for the project.

We worked with this client to select exactly what they wanted. When it comes to selecting materials for curtains or custom draperies, it is very personal. Not only fabrics are needing to be chosen, but the rods have tons of choices too. Here is a breakdown of the choices we help our clients to make when choosing the perfect drapery.
- Fabric- In this case we had to choose two fabrics. One sheer and the other a fabric with a blackout lining.
- Lining- Choosing linings aren’t as simple as you probably imagined. There are many choices and reasons for selecting them.
- Rods- So many choices. Rod size, color, rings or none, end caps or finials and extra features that are too many to include in this short blog.
