Wood Blinds for Large Windows??

Most people shy away from horizontal blinds on large windows because of the weight of the slats. Typically, we would suggest that people get a different product like a shade, or a specialty lift system. But today I’d like to introduce you to the Normandy Wood Blinds by Norman Window Fashions. Please watch the video to see a quick overview.

These wood blinds are amazingly light. It’s not because they are thinner than average, but because of the species of wood. Norman Window Fashions supplies themselves with homegrown wood. They own at least one island where they grow it. It is called Phoenix Wood®. It is a fast growth species and I’ve had great success with the quality of the wood. We haven’t had any splitting or warping on any jobs that we’ve done.

2″ versus 2 1/2″ Wood Blinds

Other features of the Normandy Wood Blinds include the amazing grain pattern. If you look closely at the video, you’ll notice how the pattern really makes this product stand out. The heavy textures that are being used in flooring, furniture and textiles can be accentuated by the right window coverings. This particular client has wood grain ceramic tiles and the textures are fantastic together.

These wood blinds are also available with the “Euro Headrail” as viewable in the video, and “Smart-Release” technology. Contact us if you’d like more information on these products.
