I don’t know if it’s regional, but most homes in the Reno area are built with slider doors that lead to the back yard. These windows can be a challenge to do window coverings for. One method of covering them is the Vertiglide, by Hunter Douglas. This is a very efficient way to provide privacy, insulation and ease of use for these large openings. Watch the video to see them in action.

There are other ways to cover sliders, like draperies, panel track systems or other specialty window coverings, so it’s important that you know why you are choosing the product that you want to use. As I was writing this posting, I realized that I hadn’t mentioned vertical blinds…the most common type of window covering for vertical formats, like slider doors. Well, I guess I believe that there are much better options. If you do decide to get vertical blinds, please get a quality brand, with an upgraded mechanism.

Take a look at these other options for your slider.
