How can I make my windows look better? This, basically, is the question I receive regularly. So many people have plain looking window coverings, and that’s OK, because they are providing a functional need. So, whether you have mini blinds, wood blinds, honeycomb shades or even shutters, you might be looking for a way to get some additional impact in your room. In the video posted here you can see the before and after images of a window with blinds to which we added nice decorative side panels.

Don’t forget the rods!

Even though the fabric is very attractive, the look is pulled together by use of decorative drapery rods. Notice the 2″ diameter of the rod, which is big enough to handle the scale of the treatments. Also, notice the rings. They add definition to the otherwise smooth rod. The finials also add some character to the drapery treatment. We chose a warm color to balance against the neutrality of the drapery panels. Not a rod specification, but did you notice the goblet pleats? It truly provides a custom look to these otherwise simple panels.

The overall look is beautiful and again, the client is very happy with the end result. Can you think of what type of color or pattern you think would bring that punch to your room? Let’s work together to come up with something for you.
