Shutters and SmartDrapes in Rancharrah
People still love shutters. The overall trend of window treatments is moving away from shutters as the primary product to have installed in their homes. But there are times that shutters are still a great choice. But, it is best when the choice to buy shutters is based on design choices rather than purely out of habit. A perfect example of this is what we did for a client in the Toll Brothers Rancharrah project in Reno NV.
Shutters and SmartDrape Paired
Keep in mind please that there are many different products that pair well with shutters. I suggest either maintaining the louvered look or going with a completely different look. The louvered look would be something like the Hunter Douglas Silhouette or Pirouette or Banded Shades. For the completely different look, I’d suggest something that looks like a contrast with the shutters, like Roman Shades, Draperies or Roller Shades.
The choices depend on so many things. In this case, (see the video) we made choices on color, style and personal choices of the client. They had already chosen the wall coverings which has a lot of character, so I needed something with punch that gave them the function they needed. So, the shutters were perfect for the smaller windows. This Rancharrah client LOVES the Norman SmartDrape, so it was the clear choice for the large window that is the focal point of the room.

One thing I love about my job is that every job I do is different. Every single one! My assistance to my clientele is based on what their functional needs are and what products will fulfill those needs. I then help them to make the design choices. This is where color and texture and other factors come in to play. You may also need someone like us to assist with your project.
