If you are looking for a patio door window treatment, you might want to take a look at this blog post. Making the right choice for a slider in your home in Reno NV or at Lake Tahoe can be difficult. This is because door window treatments are very large and they can impact the look of your room.

We do all types of window coverings for our clients. And often, what is chosen for the patio door window treatment will affect the entire room. One of the most common solutions for sliding doors is vertical blinds. But truthfully, I don’t know anyone that would choose vertical blinds for their home as of the summer of 2017. There are so many problems with the look and durability of vertical blinds.

On a side note, I do expect vertical blinds to come roaring back in fashion in the future. They will probably have a nice twist to them, like wider louvers and a different headrail system. But, for now, they are not what my clients are choosing.

The video you see here is of the Hunter Douglas Applause Shade in the Vertiglide configuration. One thing I really like about this product is the stacking of the fabric. Of all the products I do for a sliding door window treatment, this has the lowest side stack. The only thing that comes close in stacking ability would be grommet top draperies. But that depends on your interest in clean lines vs. softness that come from curtains.

The Vertiglide can even be Motorized

Well, I’m all over the place with this blog posting, but the point is this: If you are looking for a patio door window treatment, please consider all the options. The Hunter Douglas Vertiglide operating system is not cheap, but it is very attractive and very functional. Also, the technology is now available to various manufacturers, so we can source this product from a few companies. If you use us to consult your project, we will show you which ones are best for your door window treatment.
