Hunter Douglas has been a leader in the window fashions industry for many decades. They have had the best motorized technology applications as well. With the introduction of the PowerView system, they are claiming to have taken a dramatic step toward even better technologies and simplicity. This video was shot in Reno, NV when Hunter Douglas launched new products this spring. This new product is being introduced full scale in July 2015. Keep in mind that Hunter Douglas typically doesn’t release product until they are satisfied with its performance. So, either it will be ready to roll out in July, or they will delay it until they get it right.

For many years, the Hunter Douglas Platinum system has been the mainstay of the residential level of motorization. This product is NOT intended to integrate with it. Therefore, if you are thinking of adding Platinum motorized products to your existing window coverings, you have about a year in order to do so. After that, they will discontinue production. It is my belief that the system will then be made available to more of the mass market, but this is purely speculation on my part. This is a complete line product, meaning that if it’s motorized, this will be the control system that Hunter Douglas will use starting in July. The exception is hardwire motorization and the overlap of PowerRise for approximately one year.

The holder is available in designer colors and the main control is available in black or white. An add-on controller has an LCD display which allows you to choose by programmed “scenes”.
